Tristan Spurlock is a Cavalier

August 14, 2008

A big get for Virginia and the ACC, Tristan Spurlock (SF, 6’7″, 2009) has committed to the Virginia Cavaliers.

Assistant coach Bill Courtney led the Cavaliers’ pursuit of Spurlock, who also had scholarship offers from such schools as Georgetown, Wake Forest, Louisville, N.C. State and Florida State.

Spurlock is a pure SF, has the size to really be effective and can shoot from deep. He can and will play from the perimeter, can rebound and handle the ball. Should easily be a starter and star for Virginia.

Scout.com has a report that not only does Tristan Spurlock (6’6″, SF, 2009) still list Wake Forest as one of his options, but that they are “in good shape” with him:

Spurlock now claims offers from Clemson, Wake Forest, Georgetown, N.C.State, Virginia, and Florida State. Although Spurlock has a long list of suitors already, Wake Forest is still in the running. “Wake is in good shape with me,” he said. “I am still very interested in Wake and I plan on visiting them this summer. The only visit I have set in stone right now is to Virginia this weekend.”

So there is a good chance that Spurlock will be playing his college ball in the ACC.

Tristan Spurlock

A player I haven’t mentioned before is Tristan Spurlock (6’6″,SF,2009). Spurlock reportedly has offers from ACC schools Clemson, Virginia and Wake Forest, and plays for Boo Williams AAU in Virginia. Although he attends high school in Maryland, I haven’t seen any reports of an offer from the Terps.

I’ll get Marcus to do a write up on Spurlock soon.
